Summer Sundays are great days for going for a walk with family or friends. The following sites are also open on Sundays:
MONUMENTS AND SITES OPEN ON SUNDAYS
You can also discover the secrets of the Odonata (the order to which dragonflies and damselflies belong) by visiting The Dragonfly Centre at Rives de l'Yon (Chaillé-sous-les-Ormeaux).(Sunday opening times: 2-7pm)
Do not miss a visit to the Charles Payraudeau Ornithological Museum at La Chaize-le-Vicomte, the only natural history museum in the Vendée, and qualifying for the Musée de France label. It was created in 1994 to house the collections of the zoologist Charles Payraudeau. (Sunday opening times: 2-6pm)
Several other local monuments and heritage sites are also open. In summer you can visit the churches of the local area, the most emblematic being the Church of Saint Louis (19th century neoclassical) at La Roche-sur-Yon and the Church of Saint Nicholas (11th century romanesque) at la Chaize-le-Vicomte. (Opening times: 9am-6pm)
Another place to visit is the Rambourg watermill at Nesmy
Other good alternatives for Sundays are the Chocolate Museum at La Roche-sur-Yon. Young and old will be delighted !
